Registration of media

Registration of media is conducted according to the Law of Media of the Russian Federation involving Federal Service of Supervision over Compliance with Laws relating to Media and Protection of Cultural Values, as well as local authorities.

Federal Service of Supervision over Compliance with Laws relating to Media and Protection of Cultural Values is responsible for registration of media which aim is to distribute information in the whole territory of the Russian Federation, abroad, in the territory of some republics which are the part of the Russian Federation, as well as some regions and provinces.

Media which aim is to distribute information in the territory of one of regions of the Russian Federation are to be registered with the respective local authorities of the Federal Service.

The term of registration: according to effective laws, the term of consideration of applications with the Federal Service is 30 business days. The term of the whole service rendered is 35-40 business days from the day when we receive all documents and details necessary for registration.

1. The document confirming the official charge is paid.
2. A Power of Attorney with authorization to submit documents to and conduct affairs at registration authorities as well as to obtain Media Registration Certificate. In case when the subscribers to the Memorandum are companies, they are to certify the Power of Attorney by the signature of the director and the company’s seal / In case when the subscribers to the Memorandum are individuals, they are to have their signatures under the Power of Attorney notarized.
3. The Articles of Association: a notarized copy (in case the application is submitted by a company)
4. Extract from the Uniform Official Registry of Companies: a notarized copy (in case the application is submitted by a company)
5. Certificate of Registration with the Uniform Official Registry of Companies: a notarized copy (in case the application is submitted by a company)
6. Certificate of registration of the subscriber to the Memorandum, being a company, with taxation authorities (a notarized copy)
7. A photocopy of the passport of the subscriber to the Memorandum – in case the subscriber is an individual
8. A document confirming the right to the trademark (if any)
9. Original of a layout-sheet of the supposed periodical issue – in case of erotic media .

In case the application is submitted by a foreign company, the following documents shall be provided: statutory documents (Apostilled) and documents of the Representative Office of this company in the Russian Federation (notarized copies).
